Bing is celebrating Veterans Day today by featuring an image on its homepage
from the Covina Rotary’s Club Field of Valor, an art installment of
2,000 American flags constructed on the grounds of a Covina, California
school.

Veterans Day began as Armistice Day when Woodrow Wilson declared it a
national holiday at the close of World War I. In 1938, Congress enacted
a law making the day a legal holiday. In 1954, the law was amended to
change the holiday’s name to Veterans Day to represent all veterans.
According to the Veterans Affairs website, Veterans Day is, “A
celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of
country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.”
